Over the next few days, thousands of people across Wallasey and Moreton will receive their postal votes from the Elections Unit at the Town Hall. This year, there are two elections and there are two ballot papers (both in one envelope): the yellow ballot paper is to elect a local councillor.

Across Wallasey and Moreton, only the local Conservatives are challenging Labour in all six seats. UKIP has all but collapsed – they have no candidates in Seacombe, Poulton, Leasowe, Liscard or Egremont. The UKIP candidate for Wallasey lives in Liverpool.

There will also be a white ballot paper for the election of a Police & Crime Commissioner for Wirral and the rest of Merseyside.
