In 2013, the Town Hall reduced many street cleaning schedules to every three months. As a result, reports of litter ‘hot spots’, roadside dumping and fly tipping increased. Now, after complaints from residents, the Town Hall has reversed the cut and more than £500,000 will be spent to tackle the problem, but will our area benefit?
Labour’s plan is to spend the extra £500,000 mainly in areas of alleyways and entries – most of which are in Birkenhead.
Here in Wallasey and Moreton continue, it is unlikely that we will see much difference from the extra cash.
