Moreton Cenotaph – Moreton Memories

Seems I am being attacked again on Moreton Memories Facebook page over the Moreton Cenotaph. I can’t see or defend the attack because the Admin Manager of Moreton Memories has blocked me. Perhaps they don’t want a straight talker like me, someone who deals in facts not fiction?

Anyway here are the facts for those who are interested.

I was asked by a representative of the Remembrance Sunday organisers to contact Magenta Living, whose wall this is to see if the wall could be painted white so that silhouettes of poppies and soldiers could be laid over the paint as a constant reminder of conflict.

The response from Magenta was no, they would rather leave the wall in its natural state. I have forwarded this message to the organisers and said that they would have to liaise direct with Magenta Living if they wanted to progress that idea. Thats the extent of my involvement, in effect I was a messenger.

This is a matter for the Royal British Legion and their local committee, not me nor the Council.

That does not mean I am abrogating any responsibility. As a Councillor for Moreton and Saughall Massie I want what is best for our town, and will always do all I can to achieve that.

If anyone wants any more information, on this, or If I can help in any way at all, please contact me. 0151 606 9193 email: chrisblakeley@wirral.gov.uk or via this page.
