Yesterday evening I was absolutely delighted to attend, with my colleagues, Cllr Bruce Berry and Cllr Steve Williams and our families the switch on of Moreton’s Christmas Lights.
The event was one of, if not the most successful event in the last 10 years with around 150/200 people present to see the switch flicked by Moreton’s very own, Beverly Macca.
The event is only the success it is because of the hard work of Angela and Steve Pouncey in making it happen, from the purchasing of lights, organising the erection of them and organising the switch on party. A fantastic achievement they should be very proud of.
Thanks also to Will and Sue for allowing us to use the Coach and Horses for the party, to Andy for making sure the lights were up and working, to all the local businesses who donated food for the buffet, raffle prizes as well as cash donations and not forgetting Angela’s mum and her friends for running the raffle and collecting donations on the night.
Finally a massive thank you to Beverly Macca for coming along and performing the switch on. Enjoy the Lambrini Bevlar
A great night that everyone enjoyed, this is the start of Christmas in our Town, let’s hope it’s a really good one for everyone.
