It’s been discovered that, while the Leader of the Council has been blaming austerity and cuts for freezes on staff pay and conditions, he has given a new job, paying £45,737, to a Labour Party campaigner.
A job for an ‘Executive Policy Officer’, on a salary of £45,737, has been created to ‘provide in-depth support to the Leader of Wirral Council’. The successful applicant was the only person interviewed for the role and has, up until recently, been paid by the Labour Group to support political campaigning.
The Leader of Wirral’s Conservatives, Cllr. Jeff Green, said: “This is frankly outrageous. Councillor Davies already has the whole Council at his disposal which, we should remember, is more than 3,000 employees.

I have been contacted by a resident of Berrylands Road in Moreton. During the early hours of Saturday morning someone (or a group of people) had removed all 4 alloy wheels from their Ford Fiesta and had replaced them all with rusty old wheels.
Clearly this appears to be a planned event involving more than one person with the right type of equipment (it would take some time to remove 4 wheels and replace them with 4 others
I would urge residents who live in this area to be vigilant for any strangers or unusual activity, clearly this individual(s) are well prepared to carry out this sort of crime.
