Thanks to the kindness of Paul and the staff at the Skipton Building Society on Hoylake Road (the old halifax agency) a fund raising raffle has been started with all monies raised going to the Ariella Byrne Appeal. Paul asked me earlier this week to nominate a charity and I had no hesitation in suggesting the Arriella Byrne Appeal
I met Ariella and her mum Suzanne at the recent Moreton Christmas Lights ‘Switch On’ and her Mum is trying to raise a huge £60,000 in just a few short momths to give Ariella, the opportunity of a life changing operation in the United States. Ariella, 7, dreams of being able to dance but she desperatelty needs a £60,000 operation to be able to walk. Ariella has Spastic Diplegia Cerebral Palsy and can only get around with the use of a wheelchair or by leaning on a standing frame as her legs can’t hold her weight.
So come on people help Suzanne take Ariella to the USA for this operation and give Ariella the chance to have a normal childhood. Raffle Tickets are on sale now, and only cost a £1 each, for that you could win a bottle of champagne and a box of choccies, or maybe one of the runner up prizes (hopefully Tesco’s and Boots will also be making prizes available). So when you are in Moreton make sure you pop into the Skipton and buy a ticket, or maybe more than one! Don’t forget ‘you have to be in it to win it’ every pound will make a huge difference to the appeal for Ariella. The rafle draw will be held on Thursday 23rd December at 5:00pm. The Skipton is having an open afternoon and everyone is invited for a mince pie and glass of sherry.
If you can’t get to the Skipton to buy a ticket, or you want to donate online you can do so safely and securely by going to: http://www.justgiving.com/helpariella2walk
