Last night I was delighted to be invited by Wirral’s Mayor, Cllr Andrew Hodson, to atttend a Civic Reception at Wallasey Town Hall in order to recognise the tremendous achievements of Merseyside’s Chief Constable, Bernard Hogan-Howe, who is shortly leaving his post to take up a role in Her Majesty’s Inspectors of Police.
Mr Hogan-Howe has made Merseyside Police one of the best, if not the best police forces in the country, and I for one will be sad to see him go, his successor will find it hard to fill his shoes. I wish Bernard all the very best for the future in whatever he does.
