I’ve learned today that Aldi has finally submitted plans for a new store on the site of the 3 counties car dealers on Hoylake Road, near Fender Lane. Planning Application number APP/09/06344. Click HERE for details of the application.
In Autumn, 2009, the company circulated details of the store to around 500 local residents and held a public drop in session at Sacred Heart Club , which I attended, along with, Leah Fraser, Steve Smith and Ian Lewis
The top concern raised by residents was the traffic issues at this accident hot spot. Aldi, and their agents have worked with the Council’s highways officers to come up with a scheme, which they will pay for, and which they believe resolve local residents concerns
I’ll report back when I have a date for the application going to the planning committee. In the meantime, please feel free to comment on this issue now, either on the blog or make your representation direct to the planning officer dealing with the application by clicking HERE. Aldi also has an information line – 0800 298 7040 for any resident who wishes to discuss this in more detail.
The link on the Council website to the documents is broken so, presumably, the plans haven’t been scanned yet? But I, for one, welcome a new supermarket provided the concerns of the immediate locals are taken into consideration.
Just seen the plans on the website. Lokks good. Can’t wait!
To Whom it may concern? When will you be advertising for staff to work in Aldi
