Earlier today I met up with my colleagues, Steve Williams and Leah Fraser at the Moreton Community Centre in Maryland Lane, to meet up with Doreen and David who help run the weekly, ‘Breathe Easy’ excercises for people who suffer with lung and associated breathing problems.
Breathe Easy is part of the British Lung Foundation, and the group in Moreton I understand is the only one in Wirral. They meet every Tuesday between 12:30pm and 2pm for excercise classes, with the second Tuesday of every month being a group meeting with a guest speaker. Those who attend can excercise as little, or as much as they want, with a rotation of equipment every three minutes, indispersed with a three minute rest between each rotation. The excercises are designed to help with breathing and can be as simple as bouncing a ball to taking a a more strenuous turn on the excercise bike, as i discovered. As well as working to improve their health the group also have an opportunity for social activities. If you want to get involved please contact David on: 201 3786 or Doreen on: 678 3138
