A by-election is to be held in Moreton West & Saughall Massie Ward on Thursday 26 November, following the sad and tragic death of Conservative Councillor, Suzanne Moseley. The Conservative candidate is Steve Williams, a resident of Saughall Massie, a local businessman owning and running an Independent Computer Company.
If elected, Steve will join the ward’s two Conservative Councillors, Chris Blakeley and Simon Mountney. Steve said: “I first became involved in local politics when contacted by Suzanne and I hope that whoever wins this by-election will be as dedicated as her in championing local issues.”
Steve, a married father of two, has been a supporter of the Wirral based National charity PADA for many years and is the current Chairman on the Board of Trustees. He is a member of the Wirral Committee of the Federation of Small Businesses, and he also actively supports the charities Childflight, Leukemia Research and The British Heart Foundation.
Cllr. Simon Mountney said: “The last few weeks have been tragic for so many of Suzanne’s friends and colleagues. A by-election is the last thing on our minds but the law requires a vacancy on the Council to be filled, no matter how that vacancy was caused. We are very grateful that a friend of Suzanne’s has agreed to stand for the by-election.”
Steve is a resident of the ward and has worked very hard with us on many of the issues in our community. We very much hope he will be elected and continue that work, both in Moreton and Saughall Massie and in the Town Hall.
