Today sees the Wirral Race For Life Event, taking place in Birkenhead Park. Now in its sixteenth year, Race for Life is the UK’s largest women-only fundraising event on behalf of Cancer research.

The Wirral event is fully subscribed and I know quite a lot of people who are taking part, in fact, along with my colleagues, Cllr Leah Fraser and Cllr Ian Lewis we are sponsoring Sheena, one of the sisters who own Sorellas on Upton Road. And for my sins I am also sponsoring my Niece, Joanne and her daughter Jasmine. This is their second successive year taking part.
I wish all the participants in this race, which is being held at Birkenhead Park starting at 11am, and those who are taking part in all the other races around the country the very best of luck.
