Moreton shore, Leasowe Common and the embankment  is an excellent area for for taking a stroll with the family, the embankment has dedicated bike lanes and the common is used by day trippers who come along to enjoy our beautiful coastline, many people also come to visit the Lighthouse.      All of this enjoyment can, and often is spoiled by irresponsible dog owners who allow their dogs to defacate and don’t pick it up.   This is the most often repeated complaint from the electorate as my post bag and inbox  can testify.

I was therefore delighted that today Moreton was the focus of the “Don’t Give A Dog A  Bad Name” campaign by the council and other bodies.   The campaign is being rolled out across the Borough, and as well as covering the coastline it will also patrol parks and open spaces, and target known ‘hot spots’ with the very sincere promise that if you don’t bag it and bin it YOU WILL be fined £50.00.
