An open letter from former Labour Councillor for Seacombe, Denis Knowles to the local papers :
Dear Editor,
As an avid reader of your paper and in particular the letters page, I have noticed recently a steady stream of comments from bitter and twisted ex Labour Councillors.
I suppose I aught to be grateful it’s not May 2010 when I believe there will be even more disgruntled ex Labour Councillors and MPs here on the Wirral.
Now that I sit on the Conservatives benches it’s interesting to look across at Labour members, many of whom look very glum, I often imagine being a shiver on their benches, looking for a spine to crawl up and alas never finding one!
In the meantime I am content sitting with a Group that has promised to open up any libraries, swimming pools, theatres, or community centres that this spineless lot close.
It’s now almost too late for Labour or Lib/Dem members to profess that they never supported closures, even the ex Mayor, nobody believes him or them anymore.
