Today sees the marking of the 63rd anniversary of the dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in japan. The first bomb was dropped on Hiroshima on August 6th 1945, killing an estmated 87,000 people and the second on Nagasaki on 9th August, killing an estimated 73,000 people.
