It has been revealed that average monthly household outgoings has risen from £945 in June 2006 to £1281 in June 2008, that’s a massive 35% increase and well exceeds any official measure of inflation. The research was carried out by YouGov and included the bills for water, fuel, rent and mortgages of some 1983 households and includes the cost of child care, which have rocketed by 80%. Is it any wonder that over two million households say it is a constant struggle to make ends meet.
