On Friday 6th June at Moreton Community Centre, Phil Griffiths leader of Wirral UKIP, current Parliamentary candidate for Wirral West and former Parliamentary Candidate in Wallasey Constituency publicly stated that he would like to be a member of the committee of the newly formed residents alliance, and his offer was accepted. At the same meeting UKIP candidate for Seacombe in this years local elections, Chris Wellstead also offered and was accepted as a member of the residents alliance committee.
As I understand it, one the alliances aims is to be non party political and in order to join the alliance you have to sever all ties to any political party. This was confirmed to me today by one of the founder members of the residents alliance Glenn Fleetwood who stated in a comment on this blog, ’If you would like to join the Alliance you must not have any ties to any political PARTY and, if you have, then you must sever those ties and declare yourself to be aligned with the aims and objectives of the Alliance.’ Well thats clear enough for me, what about you Phil?
Looks like it to me!
