Liberal Democrats in Wirral have tonight renewed their support for Wirral’s Labour-led Council. After a further three hours of debate, during which the Labour Party sought full control, the Borough’s 20 Liberal Democrat Councillors voted to give the leadership of the Council to Cllr. Steve Foulkes while the Deputy Leadership of the Council passes to the [...]

No decision was made at last night’s Council meeting about who will run the Council. Despite the overwhelming election results for the Conservatives. The Labour Group simply want to continue with the Lib Lab alliance, the Lib Dems have said that they don’t want that, but because of their arrogance bloody mindedness they will not support [...]

It’s reported in today’s Liverpool Daily Post that tonight’s Council meeting in Wirral to determine who runs the Council for the next 12 months could be a long drawn out affair. Well it does not have to be, as long as the Labour and Lib Dem groups accept the will of the electorate, stand aside [...]

While in Crewe and Nantwich today (yes again) delivering with my colleagues, Cllr’s Ian Lewis and Paul Hayes we noticed the New Labour candidate and entourage outside Asda in Crewe. Question is, was she campaigning, or could it be she was collecting taxes from the poor people of Crewe?

At our last Area Forum on the 13 February 2008, I asked a question about dentistry in Wirral. Well after a longer wait than in a dentists waiting room (and we have all been there, well if your lucky enough to have an NHS dentist), I have finally received a response from the Chief Executive of Wirral’s Primary [...]

Last night along with my colleague, Cllr Simon Mountney I attended the Friends of Leasowe Lighthouse Annual General Meeting, which was held in the Lighthouse. The meeting, which was exceptionally well attended was at times a little fraught, with some disagreement over some of the issues being discussed, not least of all the plans for the [...]

Thats what the current ruling Labour/Lib Dem cabinet said when it met last night. Strange, they had no problem last year when they disgracefully got into bed together. Gutless, or simply clinging on to power until the very last moment? You decide Effectively the Cabinet makes its recommendation to Council on how it believes the Council [...]

It appears that Transport Minister, Rosie Winterton has said users of the Mersey Tunnels will not be treated the same way as users of the Dartford tunnel crossing, and be given substantial discounts etc. The revelation was given in an answer to a question by Wirral South MP, Ben Chapman. Well I have a message for Rosie [...]
