This evening Wirral’s Planning Committee will be considering planning applications made by the Brickworks site operator to extend screening and crushing operations for a further two years, If they approve them it will condemn residents who live nearby to another two years of hell.
Back in 2003 the planning commitee approved by a vote of 6 to 5 the application to carry out this business until March 2008, at that point the operator had to carry out restoration of the site and convert it to a six hole golf course. Could it be that the operator has made lots of money from the operation and wants to continue to do so at the expense of the amenity of local residents?
I will be attending the planning committee and will be speaking in support of local residents objections and asking demanding that the Planning Committee tell this operator that Enough is Enough and refuse both his applications.

Best of luck with the meeting tonight Chris, hope you can turn this round. The people of Moreton have suffered enough due to council incompetence.
Cheers Pete, I wiol be giving it my best shot!
Definately, and I hope you can remind people that the unelected director of Technical Services (who has reccommened the proposal be approved) does not run this council – the councillors do! I have every faith in the planning committee to be fair, as I believe they will do what is best for the people of Moreton. If only the same could be said for some of the bureaucrats at Wirral Council!
