This afternoon, with my wife Sandra I went along to the community fun day in Lingham Park. The event was organised by the churches of Moreton and was held between 12:30pm – 3:30pm.
The event was exceptionally well attended with lots of families enjoying all the activities, which included, 2-a-side football cage, face painting, bouncy castle, Childrens Activities and a FREE BBQ and refreshments. I can tell you the Burgers were really good.
Hope 08 had also organised to have two areas of Park, at its entrance from Kestrel Road, planted out in memory of the well known Lingham Residents Association activist and community fundraiser, Blanch Platt. Blanch was sadly taken from the community some time ago, and this is a fitting tribute to her efforts for, and in the community
In addition to all of the above activities local residents association had a presence with representatives from Lingham Residents, Yew Tree Residents, Sandbrook Residents, and the Eastway Residents Associations. I am pictured below with some of the ladies from the residents associations. All in all a very succesful day, and thankfully the weather stayed dry.
