Readers of this blog, as well as residents of Brunsfield Close, Amberley Avenuue, Amberley Close, Thornley Road and the wider community will be aware that over the last few months I have been working with the Council and Barratt Homes to try to find a solution to the poor state of the car park, which has been fenced off.
Hopefully there is good news on the horizon. Barry Hoos of Barratt Homes tells me that he has spoken with the Council’s Streetscene Manager, Chris Jones and has said that Barrats will be prepared to resurface the car park to the Councils specification, as long as once it is done the Council adopt the area, and take over responsibility for future maintenance.
I believe this to be a good idea, and a long-term solution and would mean that those homeowner’s who have been allocated a parking space in the car park, will not be responsible for the cost of future maintenance.
I have spoken to the Council and asked them to confirm as soon as possible that this is acceptable to them.
